Because of the overwhelming feedback I recieved on my last space post, I’ve decided to follow up with some things I found AFTER publishing the last one.
First is the launch of the first private space capsule! This one is really for Bruuks, for if you remember, he has already started saving for his outer space vacation.
Secondly, watch the december skies (… maybe you could just watch it on the Astronomy North site?!) for both a full Lunar Eclipse, on Dec. 20th, and Geminid Meteor Shower, on December 13th. Apparently it will be, both, the best meteor shower of 2010, and the best lunar eclipse until 2014! So if you are a end-of-the-world-ite (referring, of course, to the 2012 phenomenon), this will be your last chance! However, if you do not believe in earth’s near-future, impending doom, then, still, why take any chances? Might as well watch it, at least to keep your options open. Check out more details here.
Has anyone seen this doo-dad? It is pretty neat! This website, among other things ‘cool’, things allows you to Tune in every night for live footage of Aurora Borealis! Show starts at 10PM.
Also, while I am still online, for people interested in cell phones, the internet etc. This website shows where all 13,000 satellites are currently positioned over earth. It is updated every 30 seconds! If you are really interested, you can click on the satellites and find technical info, like launch dates and origins.
This probably isn’t as cool to anyone else… Suckers!
